Location: Rõuge, Võru county.
Ala-Rõuge guesthouse was built in 1885 as a manor mill building. It was used for grinding flour from grains and later for spinning yarn from sheep's wool. Since 1963 the building housed a textile factory. In 1998 restoration work began and the buildings were converted into a guesthouse.
Guesthouse is situated in the bottom of a valley, bounded on one side by a steep valley slope and on the other sides by the Rõuge River with a dam.
The recreation area can be closed at night. The house uses green energy - as it has its own hydroelectric power station.
Facilities and services: Facilities and equipment for organising seminars. Possibility to order festive tables, lunches and dinners for groups. Dining halls for 60 / 80 / 120 people. Two wood-heated saunas and a steam sauna.
Near the guesthouse: Rõuge bus station, two shops, post office, 3 lakes out of the 7 Lakes of Rõuge (for swimming, sunbathing). Ööbikuorg with its sights and hiking trails starts here.
Additional services: guided tours, horseback riding, boat trips on reservation.
